Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery in New Homes - Final Report


The move towards higher levels of energy efficiency of new homes, improved airtightness and increased use of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) systems have caused concerns to be raised about indoor air quality and possible effects on health. Set up in 2010 to consider the associated issues in detail, the Zero Carbon Hub Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality (VIAQ) Task Group issued its Interim Report in January 2012. Using additional evidence that has emerged since then, the Task Group met again in March 2013 to complete its review and make final conclusions and recommendations which has led to the following report.
