Celebrate World Green Building Week!

As part of World Green Building Week the Zero Carbon Hub, in collaboration with Saint-Gobain and Physics Unbound, are hosting the Zero Carbon Quiz. Join us at the Saint-Gobain Innovation Centre and test your knowledge of physics and green buildings, meet people, have fun and maybe even learn something new.

Ventilation project to officially kick-off this month

In July 2013, the Zero Carbon Hub and the NHBC Foundation published a report highlighting issues and key actions relating to MVHR systems in new homes. The report, the culmination of work by the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Group, chaired by Lynne Sullivan OBE, stressed the point that ‘as new homes become more airtight, adequate ventilation is relied upon increasingly to maintain satisfactory indoor air quality (IAQ).

The 1st International Conference on Zero Carbon Buildings Today and in the Future, 11-12 September 2014

Birmingham City University will hold the 1st International Conference on Zero Carbon Buildings Today and in the Future at its City Centre Campus on 11th and 12th September 2014. This will be followed by a technical visit to a ground-breaking Birmingham Zero Carbon House on Saturday 13th September.

At the Hub our goal is to recommend energy and carbon standards for Zero Carbon new homes which are both stretching and cost-effective, and to support the industry in meeting these standards. With this in mind we are embarking on a number of projects focused specifically on smaller-scale housebuilders.

The rci Show is targeted to reach as many people as possible who are involved within the roofing, cladding and insulation industry ranging through specification to completion and everything in between; assembling over 100 exhibitors across the industry.

Performance Gap Project - End of Term Report Launched

The Zero Carbon Hub has today released its End of Term report on the Design versus As-Built Performance Gap project. This report provides industry and government with clear recommendations to close the Performance Gap. It follows on from the Interim Report published July 20131 and the Evidence Review Report published March 20142.
